As a child, Stacy Peterson moved often and began sketching the ever-changing environments, from the mossy lakes of Iowa to the coastal beaches and dusty plains of Texas. Those quiet moments instilled a life-long love of art in all forms.

Stacy’s career began in advertising as an art director. She collaborated with notable directors and photographers to create international television and print campaigns for fortune 500 companies while living in NYC.

Upon the birth of her children, Stacy became a freelance illustrator and has been self-employed ever since. She has produced children’s books, greeting cards, games and products for clients such as American Girl, Scholastic, Cottage Door Press as well as Madonna. After acquiring the skill of surface pattern design, Stacy began licensing beautifully detailed patterns for fabric to FreeSpirit Fabrics and Renaissance Ribbons.

Now, a new era is unfolding. After many years of working digitally, Stacy is leaning into traditional fine art. She has fallen in love with oil painting. You may find her plein air painting in the Texas Hill Country or in her home studio where, along a winding creek dancing with fireflies, she finds inspiration for her art.
